Tragedy as 24-year-old woman's body is discovered in bushland during search - just hours after her sister issued a desperate plea for help to find her missing sibling
The body of a 24-year-old woman who disappeared on Monday has been found.
Abbey Lamont-Salter, 24, was last seen in the Illawarra region, south of Sydney, on October 11.
Police found Abbey's white Toyota Corolla on Otford Road, Helensburg, at 3pm on Tuesday.
A search was carried out and Abbey's body was found at 7.30pm in nearby bushland.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
The news comes hours after Abbey'ssister Casey Knight launched an appeal on social media in an attempt to try and reunite her with the rest of the family.
'My sister Abbey Lamont has been missing for 72 hours,' she wrote.
'Can you please contact Lake Illawarra police if you have any idea of her whereabouts or know anyone who might know something, anything!
'At this stage finding her car may give us the most answers.
'I need to find my sister.'
