Murder mystery as cops are called to reports of a bleeding man lying in the middle of a Melbourne road - as a body is found in a nearby street hours later
Police have discovered a body in Melbourne's outskirts just hours after they were called to investigate reports of an injured man lying in the middle of a nearby road.
Officers found the injured man when they were called to Boundary Road in Derrimut, in Melbourne's western suburbs, at about 6am on Thursday.
Paramedics attempted to save him but he died at the scene.
Police were first called to nearby East Derrimut Crescent about 11.15pm on Wednesday after receiving reports an injured man was lying in the middle of the road.
When police arrived, the man had disappeared and they found some personal items scattered along the road.
