I am an Indian living in America with husband and a 20-month-old daughter. We follow all our Indian festivals here. So, lately on 4th November, it was an Indian festival Karva Chauth.
It is that time of the year when hundreds and thousands of women across North India gear up for the day. Traditionally, the festival celebrates a wife's devotion toward her husband and stands for her fasting to pray for the husband's long life. She doesn't eat and drink the entire day. She breaks her fast by drinking water after seeing the moon at night.
My husband is an adoring and understanding guy. Most of the husbands want their wives to look good but there are few who put in the efforts for that. I had less collection of Indian dresses here, and we couldn’t go to India because of Covid. He did really great research, talked to many stores back in India, and ordered a saree for me additionally get a blouse stitched. He ordered accessories as well and everything from India that came right before the festival.
It’s not materialistic things that made me happy but his efforts made me feel so content. He could have ordered anything or took me to any Indian store here, but he knew, I wouldn’t like that. I love the way he was immersed in doing all that. Giving cash, credit, or debit cards to the wife for shopping is not fun but taking out the time and showing interest to find the best for her is actually denotes affection, at-least I valued it.
Plus, he took a day off from work to help me. He helped and showed truly concerns for me the entire day because I was hungry and thirsty. He kept our daughter busy so that she shouldn’t disturb me. These are small gestures that really matters for a woman that shows how inclined the one is for you. I asked him to get some stuff, so he went out and took really a long time. I didn’t realize then but right after completing worship at night, he told met that he forgot his wallet in the car at the parking, I replied to get it tomorrow but somehow he went downstairs because he kept more gifts in the car trunk for me.
It didn’t end here, besides all this he managed to cook my favorite dinner that I over ate.
Sharing some of our memories of that day. Expensive clothes, jewelries or makeup don't make a woman beautiful but her genuine smile on the face does.
And one with my most loving husband and I can proudly call him the best husband.
He deserves all the Love
