Who is more powerful, Russia or China?

The first thing to understand is that power is measured through different criteria: economic, military, technology, education, or even soft power.
On all these criteria, the United States remains the world's leading superpower today.
However, China's ambition is to become the equal of the United States, and then to surpass the United States by 2030.
Russia is now only a shadow of what it may have been in the past during the Soviet era. The vestiges of the past still allow Russia to be ahead of China from a military point of view.
While China has advanced military technology, it does not have the military know-how and equipment of Russia today. However, it is working on it since it invests more than 230 billion dollars every year in military spending.
Russia cannot afford to spend that much, but it is still in the Top 10 with just over $60 billion invested annually in this sector.
Apart from the military, Russia cannot compete with China.
Economically, China is a giant compared to Russia. China is the world's second economic power while Russia is outside the Top 10.
China is on the upward trajectory and everything seems to indicate that the country will overtake the United States in this area over the next 10 to 20 years.
In terms of technology, China is also more impressive than Russia. After copying the US and Europe a lot, China is now able to innovate as it shows in 5G with Huawei.
In the field of education, China has a huge lead over Russia as well. Chinese universities are among the best in the world.
Finally, in the field of soft power, China does not reach the level of the United States, but it largely dominates Russia which is practically non-existent at the world level in this field.
In the end, China is already more powerful than Russia. Only the military power of Russia still allows it to give the exchange. The big question is for how long?
Indeed, China is investing massively in this area because it is well aware that its rise to the rank of the world's leading superpower by 2030 will not be possible without an extremely powerful army.
