I think that Mike Pence walked into the debate with one simple Agenda. His plan was to turn the “debate” into a one sided conversation. Here is why I think that.
Not once during the entire debate did he answer a single question that was asked. What he did was much more subtle. He would be asked a question and then launch into a speech about an unrelated topic. When his two minutes were up he would keep going and ignore the moderator and keep talking, and talking. He didn’t want to debate, he wanted to do what the Republican Party always wants to do, force their opinion/policy on America and not let them have an opportunity for rebuttal.
The final proof of that was at the end of the debate. Up walks his wife with no mask on. The rules were clear about the wearing of masks and they chose to ignore those rules - even with trump and most of the White House and senior leaders infected with coronavirus.
If there was any doubt about the Republicans wanting to force an authoritarian rule on the rest of us. I think Pence sealed the deal.
